What would happen if all of us filed for bankruptcy protection?

During the economic recession of 2007 a large number of corporations rush the courts in order to seek bankruptcy protection. On the other hand many individuals primarily those with limited financial resources ended up with overwhelming debt many resulting in foreclosure. In an off the record chitchat with a prominent Miami foreclosure defense attorney during the New Year's celebration I learned that many people who lost their homes did so because they fail to take action against the lender.

While many of federal government foreclosure assistance programs rolled out slow and for many too late, many others who could have taken advantage of programs like the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP), the Home Affordable Unemployment Program (UP), and the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives (HAFA) did not by failing to hire a foreclosure defense attorney who could assist them in modifying their loan and or putting a stop to the foreclosure process by seeking protection under the bankruptcy code. As news of toxic loans sold by AIG and others became public information many homeowners found themselves holding a mortgage of substantial more value than what their property was worth. Many who allowed these homes to be repossessed found themselves having to deal with a deficiency judgment afterwards. A deficiency judgment is a type of lawsuit pursue by a lender when the reprocessed foreclosed property is sold for less than what was owe in the original mortgage.

One thing all these people have in common is that they all isolated themselves and ignore letters and communications from the lender. This is never the right thing to do regardless of the type of debt but in the event of a mortgage is important to establish a channel communication with the lenders loss mitigation department immediately. It is just as important to seek the help of an experience bankruptcy attorney. There are many lawyers and law firms that advertise bankruptcy services and while these may be competent and license individuals it is advised you seek the help of a debt relief specialists with litigation experience. You will find that many of these law firms offer free initial consultations and in many cases payment arrangements.

So, back to my original question - What would happen if all of us filed for bankruptcy protection?

According to analysts this ordeal was caused by greedy banks lending money to people who cannot afford what they were purchasing so what if everybody was to seek bankruptcy protection keeping these lenders from reprocessing all the properties they did and sold at a discount price! I think the outcome would have been several failed banks but the impact to consumers would have been less. There were a lot of people who did not participate in this practice or purchase homes during this time but yet have seen their properties depreciated tremendously while many of the banks responsible for this chaos are now 40% to 50% larger and wealthier.

Hot Rods now and then...

Since the late 40s car enthusiasts have been modifying cars, trucks and vans in order to make them unique identifiers of their taste and vision. Today car guys are substantially more sophisticated not only from the point of view of technology but also in how they express themselves.

The car movement that followed World War II is often referred to as the "Hot Rod" era. This was a time where great advances were made throughout the automotive industry. For over 30 years the Hot Rodders push the limits of automotive design and technology. Unfortunately the gas crisis of the mid-70s made hot rods, fast cars and big V8s obsolete.

Today hot rodders are much different and often called tuners. This is a movement that started in Japan in the late 80s and brought the mainstream audience of cities such as Miami by movies like “The fast and the fury”, “Cannonball Run” and others.

There are many things that differentiate tuners form a hot rodders, one of them being there obsession for over-the-top custom car audio systems. Another popular unique distinction is the use aerodynamic spoilers, body kits and lambo doors.

The term lambo is a short street name or slang for the Italian carmaker or brand "Lamborghini". Although founded in 1963 Lamborghini became the dream car of many young car enthusiasts with the introduction of the Lamborghini Countach in 1973. Unlike many cars of the era the Lamborghini Countach was different in many ways, starting with its doors, which unlike any other car of the time opened vertically from the back to the front unlike those of the Mercedes Benz Gullwing wish we opened sideways. This type of door hinge design will soon become known as lambodoors.

Lambo doors or lambo door kits are also known as vertical doors, scissor doors and butterfly doors and consists of a set of hinges, brackets and gas shocks that allow an average car, truck or sport utility doors to open vertically like those in many Lamborghini models including the famous Countach.

Lambo doors are a great way to customize just about any vehicle. They allow the vehicles to maintain a factory look and feel while driving and a radical custom look and functionality by allowing the doors to hinge vertically like in a Lamborghini.

Tuners just like hot rodders often resort to engine modifications except that today those consists of computer upgrades, chipsets, aftermarket exhaust as well as many fundamental engine modifications. While have a reputation of utilizing sophisticated car alarmsystems and high-tech options like HID lights, one thing they both have in common is their extravagant paint schemes and a wide and vivid imagination for wheels and tire combination.

Dental care is part of your health!

It is almost the end of the year and many people are about to lose thousands of dollars if they don't use the accrual dental benefits of their dental insurance plan. The dental benefits of many insurance plans resets in January 1. This means that whatever unused portion left unused cannot be carried over to the next calendar year. This fact was brought to my attention by a Pembroke Pines dentist I used to visit. What is more important is that what once sounded as a sales pitch turned out to be a lot more than that.

Many people don't realize how important dental health is. Your dental health can be a factor and influence on many other health issues. Dr. Stephen Gilson of Gentle Family Dentistry a dentist in Plantation Florida, explained to me that like many other parts of your body your mouth is an incubator for bacteria. The amount of bacteria within your mouth and our bodies controls many aspects of your health. Poor oral hygiene has been linked to many diseases like Endocarditis, Cardiovascular disease, Pregnancy and birth, Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease and other conditions. This was a big surprise to me and a refreshing scenario knowing that my Plantation dentist was actually looking after me.

My dental problems started as a result of using medications. Many people don't know that decongestants, antihistamines, painkillers and diuretics can cause dry mouth and that that lack of saliva flow can cause havoc to your oral health. Saliva is responsible for neutralizing the acids the bacteria in your mouth produces. My formal dentist in Pembroke Pines explained that when the bacteria level in your mouth is not controlled it can reach levels that might lead to oral infections, such as tooth decay and gum disease and problems in your mouth can affect the rest of your body? So don't blame your dentist for being pushy if you get a call from his office this holiday season. The state of your dental health could have major implications in your overall health!
